Find Calm in a Hectic World

Reiki Programs

What Is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese relaxation technique that is used in more than 800 hospitals in the U.S. Many nurses are trained in Reiki, which is often used as a complementary therapy to reduce pain and improve patient physical health and mental well-being.

Reiki therapy uses energy to calm and balance the body and mind, which triggers the body’s natural healing abilities.

Learn How to Practice Reiki

Learning Reiki is not difficult or very time-consuming. You can quickly learn to practice Reiki on yourself and others by taking classes, even over a single weekend. My Usui/Holy Fire Reiki 2-course program is a combination of traditional Usui Reiki and a contemporary evolution of Reiki.

Both Reiki I and Reiki II have been approved by Commonwealth Education Seminars. Nurses can earn 6 hours of Continuing Education credit for each Reiki course.

Upcoming Classes

With the completion of each class, every student receives a certificate from the International Center for Reiki Training.

Introduction to Reiki I & II Prerequisite: None

Introduction to Holy Fire Reiki I:

The Reiki I and Reiki II classes are a combination of lecture, discussion and practice time.

Students are encouraged to take both classes the same weekend. Taking the classes together increases your knowledge and confidence as a Reiki practitioner. Over the weekend you will receive attunements to the Reiki I and Reiki II energy, which allow you to access greater healing energy.

In Reiki I time is allotted for practice giving and receiving a complete Reiki treatment using all the hand positions. Each student receives a copy of the class manual, “Reiki:  The Healing Touch” by William Rand.

Individual Reiki Treatment Sessions Offered

A Reiki session is given at the Coral Gables office on a Reiki table with the client fully clothed. The Reiki practioner’s hands are placed slightly above the client’s body moving from the head to the soles of the feet.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation, feelings of peace and wellbeing.

Reiki also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

60 minute session: $100

Call 305-609-4433 to schedule an appointment.

nurse giving reiki therapyHow Does Reiki Work?

Unlike many therapies, Reiki treats the whole body and restores balance to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

  • In general terms, Reiki is a life force energy that is guided by a higher intelligence, not by the mind.
  • While spiritual in nature, Reiki is NOT a religion.
  • It is not dependent on any dogma or belief and can be practiced on anyone.

Our life force energy, called “Ki,” nourishes our tissues and organs. When the Ki is blocked or mischanneled, our physical tissues and organs are negatively affected.

Negative thoughts and emotions can collect in our bodies, which restricts energy flow, leading to illness, stress and anxiety. Reiki flows through the affected parts of our bodies and charges them with positive energy.

  • People with low life energy often feel sick, stressed or anxious.
  • Those with higher life energy (unobstructed) generally feel more joyful, optimistic and healthy.

What Is a Reiki Session Like?

In general, Reiki energy flows through the practitioner’s hands into the client.

The Reiki practitioner places their hands on or near the body, usually around the head, shoulders, stomach or feet. Sessions generally last between 45 and 90 minutes.

Both the practitioner and the client often feel a powerful radiance during treatment and feel refreshed and more positive after a session.
