As meditation is rapidly becoming a common solution, some large organizations are making waves by embracing this movement.

They know with meditation, they can:

  • Increase productivity
  • Create a better work environment
  • Reduce health care costs

Notable corporations all across the globe are paving the way for meditation in the workplace to become a common practice.

1. Apple

Many people believe that one of the reasons Steve Jobs was such an innovative leader was because he practiced meditation on a regular basis.

In addition, Jobs also promoted meditation retreats. He passed on his love of meditation to his employees by allowing employees to reserve 30 minutes of every day to meditate at work.

2. Google

People know Google for having a long roster of employee benefits. And the tech giant was arguably one of the first companies to bring meditation into a working environment.

Beginning in 2007, Google offered 500 employees the opportunity to be part of a program called “Search Inside Yourself.” Now, the company has meditation space and courses available throughout its company.

3. Nike

This iconic athletic apparel giant has taken its motto of “Just do it” to a new level, by installing relaxation rooms where employees can practice meditation.

In addition, Nike is offering meditation and yoga classes on-site, allowing staff members to learn the fundamentals of the practice without ever having to step outside the office.

4. AOL Time Warner

After a drastic sales and marketing staff reduction in 2000, AOL Time Warner came up with a revolutionary-at-the-time new way to help remaining employees adjust to the higher workload – namely, meditation.

The company added a host of meditation classes into the work day to allow employees to take a breather in between a suddenly harried schedule.

5. Yahoo!

Yahoo is another big tech company that is embracing meditation by offering free classes on-site.

They also offer meditation rooms. Employees are encouraged to share their experiences with their colleagues.

6. Procter & Gamble

The CEO of Procter & Gamble, A.G. Lafley is personally dedicated to the regular practice of meditation. Lafley realized he could share it with his employees as well.

As a result, this company now offers a wide range of health and fitness programs that include meditation spaces and classes at their corporate centers.

7. HBO

Perhaps there is a reason that this iconic cable TV station has a hit show called “Enlightened.”

HBO offers free meditation and yoga classes to all of its employees on-site. These programs help staff members of all varieties stay mentally and physically fit.

While big companies are taking steps to make meditation accessible, you don’t have to work at these companies to enjoy the advantages of meditation.

Suited for companies of all sizes, meditation truly is a one-size-fits-all solution for a happier and healthier workforce.
